General Information:
The Kyabirukwa Community Vocational School has no electricity and the Power Utility Company has estimated that the cost to extend electricity to the complex will exceed $10,000. Also additional buildings are needed to be constructed which already have been professionally designed by in-country architects. (Need: critical and immediate)
Problem:
Installation of a solar photovoltaic lighting system throughout the complex it is believed is a better option than extending the power grid to the complex. Although up-front costs will be higher these additional costs will be easily offset by lower monthly utility bills over the life duration of the buildings. Also new faculity buildings need to be constructed.
Costs:
Provide a solar photovoltaic lighting system to the Vocational School Complex | $18,000 |
Staff House Building Construction with solar lighting | $65,000 |
** On-site engineering/management required during installation | $3,500 |
Grand Total | $86,500 |
